Our Mission

Second Chance Bikes collects used bicycles, fixes them so they’re reliable and safe, and then gets them out into the community. We also provide affordable bike repair services for all and teach folks how to do basic repairs and maintenance on their own. Our work increases access to nutritious food, better employment opportunities, improves folks’ physical and mental health, and lets everyone enjoy the benefits of recreation.

We also have low-cost parts and free repair opportunities for folks in need who solely rely on their bikes for transportation and very fair prices on service for folks who just want a tune-up that supports a greater cause.

We work with over 40 local organizations to provide no-cost bikes to those who are struggling, primarily with transportation, homelessness, and/or mental health. A bike from Second Chance Bikes can empower someone and give them the freedom to meet their needs economically and independently. They can get around without relying on others for rides or spending money on car expenses or bus passes.

We envision an empowered, mobile community where everyone has access to affordable, reliable bicycles and the repair/maintenance services needed to stay rolling.
