Zoey Cole

President

Zoey Cole is a Virginia native who has always seen his bike as a means of freedom. While attending the University of Virginia, he also developed a love for mountain biking in the hills of Charlottesville. After graduating with a BS in Computer Science, he has worked in various technical and professional service positions with organizations such as Sapient, Blackbaud, Equifax, and Moovila.

He is proud to serve the Charleston area community through Second Chance Bikes’ mission to grant access to sustainable and affordable transportation with the bikes we refurbish and repair. When not working or at SCB, Zoey also enjoys running and playing table tennis with his wife and two daughters.

 

 

Frank Cornley

Vice President

Frank graduated from the College of Charleston in 1984 with a degree in Political Science after serving in the Air Force from 1976 to 1980. In 1987, Frank earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Prior to entering private practice in 1990, he was an Assistant Solicitor for the 9th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Frank has served as a Municipal Judge since 1990. Previously serving as Municipal Judge for the City of Hanahan, the Town of Mt. Pleasant. Frank is currently a Municipal Judge for Town of Sullivan’s Island.

 

 

Lydia Ford

Treasurer

Lydia Ford is the Communications and Volunteer Manager for Neighbors Together, a human services organization that regularly partners with SCB. In her role, she has gained experience in fundraising, development, grant writing, and more.

For the past three years Lydia has volunteered for Second Chance offering event support and marketing advice. She is excited to expand her involvement by serving as a member of the Board of Directors and helping to further Second Chance’s mission through her knowledge and experience.

In addition to her professional and volunteer work, Lydia enjoys swimming, riding her bike Downtown, and spending time at the beach with friends. She is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful organization and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of those served by Second Chance

 

Lucia Hayes

Secretary

Lucia Hayes was born and raised in the mountains of Asheville, N.C. Yearning for a warmer climate, she attended The College of Charleston and has made Charleston home since graduating from there in 1992. A lover of books and reading, she worked at the College of Charleston library as a student for four years and was then hired by The Charleston County Public Library. She received her Master of Library and Information Science from The University of South Carolina in 1999, After moving around to several branches, she is now the system-wide Circulation Coordinator and Main Circulation Supervisor. When not working or riding a bike around Park Circle & the old Navy Base, she enjoys disc golf, table tennis and going to see live music.

 

 

Gabrielle Scronce

Gabrielle is a physical therapist and researcher at MUSC, where she is an advocate for safe and inclusive movement adapted to each individual’s comfort and ability. Gabrielle considers herself lucky to have always had a bike to ride for recreation and commuting. She is proud to serve on Second Chance Bike’s board to help provide this same bike access to residents of the Charleston area.
